In addition to our regular meetings, the Captain David Philips Chapter partcipates in many community and regional events. From honoring our veterans with the laying of wreaths on memorial day, to presenting scholarships to area youth, we are dedicated to the national society objectives of promoting patriotism, historic preservation and education.

The chapter members provided over 450 flags to community members at the 2016 Enloe Indepence Day Parade as well as the Celebration Plaza events in Sulphur Springs.
Madam State Regent Judy Ostler attended our May 2016 chapter meeting and installed the newly elected officers for the 2016-2018 term.
Six longtime Captain David Philips Chapter Members were recognized for a combined 121 years of service to our patriotic organization. The dedicated members were MaryNell Bryant, Billie Evans, Elda Mitchell and Wyvonne McDaniel, pictured in the above photo, along with Sandy Noe and Jo McCain who were not available.
Honoring the Veterans of Hopkins County with the laying of a wreath on Veteran's Day 2015 in front of the memorial located at Celebration Plaza.
In honor of Constituion Week, the Captain David Philips Chapter advertised on a billboard in Sulphur Spirings. In addition a display was created at the local genealogy library, posters were provided to the county schools, and proclamations were received from both county and city officials.
Proclamations were read by Sulphur Springs City Mayor Kayla Price and Hopkins County Judge Robert Newsome at the Hopkins County Courthouse, proclaiming September 17-23, 2015 Constitution Week.
