Please Join Us - We'd Love to Meet You

icon Membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Three Missions Chapter, is based on your family lineage. Trace those ancestors to see if one of yours served in some manner for the American revolution. It does not matter if they were an actual soldier, a home guard, or sold goods to the war effort. Both men and women ancestors qualify as patriots; and we have patriots in what is now Louisiana, California, and other states that were not in existance during the Revolution. There WERE people living there who helped, and that is all it takes to qualify. Perhaps your grandmother or aunt or cousin is or was in the DAR. If so, you are probably eligible to join quickly and easily.

icon Once you are fairly certain you have family and ancestors that served, you can double check through the National Website. The DAR provides a Patriot Lookup Service which will search the known ancestors already proven to have served to see if yours matches. Or you can get a copy of the papers that belonged to your relative who is or was a member. We will be glad to give you plenty of pointers.

icon After you figure out that you do have an ancestor who served or rendered service, you then need to find a chapter in your area or one where you can attend meetings. Some urban areas have more than one chapter; so you can choose what day and time suits your schedule. But once you find a chapter, its members will be happy to assist you with the application process. There is more in-depth information about joining the DAR available on the National DAR website.
