DAR Project Patriot
The DAR Project Patriot Committee is the official Daughters of the American Revolution committee that supports America's service personnel in current conflicts abroad.

The chapter has adopted troops in Afghanistan and Iraq, sending many boxes of comfort items.  We turned out to help complete a home for a returning disabled veteran.  Chapter member Diane Slaughter sends coupons worth thousands of dollars to military bases for the use of military families.

Homes for Our Troops
Staff Sergeant Shawn Monroe was injured when mortar fire hit while he was waiting outside a Baghdad police station. Homes for Our Troops, with the help of the local community, built a specially-adapted home on the Monroe's land in Santa Fe, Texas.

James Tull Chapter members joined the effort, along with many DAR members from across the state, at a work day.  They cleaned, installed window blinds, and worked on the home's grounds.  Shawn and his family's gratitude was heartwarming.
