Welcome to James Tull Chapter NSDAR

About Us
The DAR, founded in 1890 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better education for children.

James Tull Chapter enthusiastically promotes the DAR mission. The chapter meets on the first Saturday of the month, August through May, unless otherwise determined.  Contact us about attending a meeting.

Our Mission

For more than a century, the members of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution have dedicated themselves to historical preservation, promotion of education, and encouragement of patriotic endeavor. These goals are as relevant in today's society as they were when the organization was founded in 1890.

Most of DAR's volunteer work is accomplished under a committee system comprised of a national chairman appointed by the President General and locally appointed state and chapter chairmen. The national chairmen direct and supervise the activities of their committees with the assistance of the national vice chairmen. The committees are grouped based on the above-mentioned goals and objectives.

Historic Preservation

DAR has always recognized the need to preserve our cultural heritage.  This goal is achieved both nationally and locally.  Click here to see some
of the national projects DAR has supported.  On a local level, James Tull Chapter works to preserve our local heritage for future generations.

Patriotism

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded during a time that was marked by a revival in patriotism and intense interest in the beginnings of the United States of America. Women felt the desire to express their patriotic feelings and wished to have their own organization to perpetuate the memory of ancestors who fought to make this country free and independent. As a result, the Daughters of the American Revolution has carried the torch of patriotism ever since.
