Objectives

Historic Preservation, Promotion of Education, and Patriotic Endeavor

The objects of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution are to perpetuate the memory and spirit of the men and women who achieved American Independence; to promote an enlightened public opinion; and to foster true patriotism and love of country.  God, Home and Country is our motto.

Eligibility

Membership in the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is open to all women eighteen years of age and older who can prove lineal, blood descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American Independence.  Admission to membership in the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) is either by invitation through a Chapter in a State Society (or Unit Overseas) or as a Member-At-Large. 

Documentation must be provided for each statement of birth, marriage and death.  The National Society reserves the right to determine the acceptability of all service and proof thereof. Acceptable service, with some exceptions, for the period between 19 April 1775 (Battle of Lexington) and 26 November 1783 (withdrawal of British Troops from New York), is as follows:
