Do you know your American ancestral roots and your family’s role in America’s history?

Do you have an ancestor who fought in or supported the American Revolution?

Do you want to make a difference in your community and help to preserve America's heritage?

Join Us! The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) is a volunteer women's non-profit service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better American history education.

  • Founded in 1890, there are approximately 185,000 members in 3,000 chapters located across the United States and around the world.

  • The original Congressional Charter tasks the NSDAR to locate the unmarked graves of revolutionary soldiers and their wives and to report these findings to the Smithsonian and Congress.

  • DAR members and Chapters support historic restorations and act to preserve historic revolutionary landmarks. The DAR provides scholarships to outstanding students and supports citizenship.

  • Any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution, is eligible for membership.

Well-done videos on Today's DAR are available for viewing online. They provide a vivid picture of what it means to be a DAR member.
