Thankful Hubbard Chapter, NSDAR,
welcomes you to our website.
As one of five founding chapters of the Texas
Society Daughters of the American Revolution (TXDAR), the Thankful Hubbard
Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR)
has practiced patriotism through service to the community for more than 125
years.
We are blessed with talented, enthusiastic members
of all ages who are proud to serve the Austin area. Thankful Hubbard Chapter,
NSDAR, awards scholarships, honors veterans and active-duty military, helps to
preserve historic sites, celebrates our American heritage, and preserves
genealogical records. We hope that you will join us and we look forward to
hearing from you!
Thankful Hubbard was the great grandmother of our
organizing member, Florence Anderson Clark; three of Thankful's four sons
fought in the American Revolutionary War. It was said of Thankful Hubbard that
she was a lover of home and country and that there was no lack of iron in the
blood of the New England wife and mother.
Chapter members are businesswomen, entrepreneurs,
educators, lawyers, scientists, media and technology professionals, from state
and county government, homemakers, retirees, and students. We are interested in
our heritage and the volunteer opportunities that Thankful Hubbard Chapter,
NSDAR, offers.
Our monthly meetings have a purpose as we educate
ourselves in many areas. For example, we have studied new technologies
available to apply to our genealogy research, compiled a digital database for
all to use in historical searches as we learn to look toward the future while
maintaining respect for, and honoring the past.
Join us at one of our meetings the second Tuesday
of every month, January through May and September through November. Thank you
for taking the time to virtually visit our chapter. If you would like to attend
a chapter meeting please
contact
us. We look forward to meeting you. |
