George W. Kendall, for whom the county is named, was chosen as the chapter’s namesake, for his outstanding leadership in local, state, and national history.The biography of George W. Kendall gives credit for many of the reasons for honoring him.

Chapter meetings of the George W. Kendall Chapter NSDAR are held on Saturdays. Our social begins at 10:00 am and we start the meeting at 10:30 am. We welcome guests, so contact us if you would like to visit during a regular meeting.

Chapter History

The George W. Kendall Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was approved by the National Board of Management February 5, 2000. There were fifteen organizing members. Charter membership remained open to all who were officially active members of the chapter on the one-year anniversary in February 2001.

“It shall be the object of this chapter: To perpetuate the memory and spirit of the men and women who brought American Independence to the Texas Hill Country area, in and around Kendall County, to protect historical spots, encourage historical research, and to participate in patriotic celebrations of American history in the local community.”

In the spirit of this object, taking part in local community events, as well as DAR national programs, will be given prime attention.
