Activities

The Fort Bend Chapter steadfastly supports the National and Texas Societies through our work in community and education, in historic preservation, in genealogical research, in veteran services, in observing patriotic anniversaries, and in upholding those principles of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity for which our American patriot ancestors sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  Some of our community involvement includes:

Each year our chapter honors the only Fort Bend Revolutionary War soldier, Alexander Hodge, for Memorial Day.  Our ceremony includes a reciting of all Hodge's accomplishments ranging from the American Revolution to the Texas Revolution.  As each chapter member places a flag honoring Hodge, we also recite the names of our family members who have fought and died for our country.
