Marge Croninger, Welba Dorsey, Sylvia Marrs, and Janie
presented "Docent Program: Period rooms" on
April 16, 2013.
Eileen Walcik, Vice Regent awarded Robert Fix our
chapter’s first DAR Outstanding American History Teacher
on May 18, 2013. Robert has taught American History for
over twenty years in Killeen, Texas. He was part of the
reenactment of the Lewis and Clark Expedition and
currently is preparing to participate in the reenactment
of the War of 1812. In addition to teaching his
students, Mr. Fix has presented programs at several of
the Killeen ISD schools and other organizations as well
as being a requested presenter at the Texas Association
of Gifted and Talented conferences.

Texas SAR officer in the Memorial Day Ceremony at the
Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery on May 27, 2013.

Our First DAR Medal of Honor Ceremony
Robert L. Bearden, WWII Army sergeant, paratrooper, and winner
Bronze Star and Purple Heart medals, was presented with
Medal of Honor on Sunday, July 24, 2011. Mayor
presented Mr. Bearden with a proclamation
declaring July 24, 2011
as Bob Bearden Day. This day of honor
was shared by many friends and
dignitaries of the community.
