Captain Nathaniel Mills Chapter NSDARis proud to
support our veterans throughout the year. Our members foster true patriotism
and love of country by participating in local veterans day parades, ceremonies
on Memorial Day, attending 4th of July parades, and other activities such as
the Vietnam War Commemoration. We place wreaths at cemeteries and memorials on
holidays in the Mid-Cities area.
Mary Alice Stam cares for
Veterans Memorial at Sparger Park.
Lisa DeSanto places
flags on veterans graves at Bedford Cemetery.
As partners in the Vietnam War Commemoration project,
we honor Vietnam War veterans at chapter meetings, and we support combined
chapter events.
Pat Staley with Vietnam
War veteran Wendell Deaton and his wife, Lynn, enjoy the 50th anniversary
Vietnam War commemorative luncheon in Ft Worth.
Anne Ziegler admires the
banner at Vietnam veterans welcome home event at Veteran's Memorial Park, city
of White Settlement, Texas.
We work jointly with other partners such as the City
of Forest Hill, Texas, to honor and express our thanks to the veterans. We
continue to help veterans living in the area, who at no expense, may have their
names forged on the monument at the City of Forest Hill Memorial Park. Our
chapter members became donors for the original dedication of the park.
Many members work with the USO welcoming veterans home and providing them with
supplies. In addition, we honor veterans at the Fort Worth VA Outpatient Clinic
by serving sack lunches and snacks.
Joellyn Myrick, with volunteers, welcome home soldiers and
their families at our local USO.
Alice Stone serves our
veterans at the local VA clinic.
