The Robert Gilbert Livingston Chapter NSDAR was formed on June 26, 2006, in Sun City, Texas, which is a part of Georgetown, Texas, at the request of then State Regent Florence Fitch Patton. The chapter was organized by Catharine Shirk Browning with 17 organizing members and received its charter on April 29, 2008. In the years since 2008, we have grown to more than 140 members. Come grow with us!

Become a member

Membership in the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) is open to all women eighteen years of age and older who can provide lineal, bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence. Read more details on our Texas membership page.

As we look back at the accomplishments of our ancestors, we strive to continue their work by honoring our history, participating in the present, and having faith in our future. By doing these things, we hope to benefit our chapter as well as the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution through our dedication to God, Home, and Country.

Chapter Activities

The Robert Gilbert Livingston Chapter NSDAR collects donations for Hope Alliance which is a domestic violence service near Round Rock, Texas, providing help for people dealing with domestic abuse. These women and their children sometimes leave with nothing. Our chapter collects supplies like bedding, towels, toiletries, toys, and books for children as well as gift cards to give them a hand up so they can get on their feet again.

The chapter collected school supplies for five second-grade students at Florence Elementary, Florence, Texas. Hopefully this will help at least five students to have the needed school supplies.

On Memorial Day and Veterans Day each year, our chapter helps host the celebrations at Sun City, Texas, honoring veterans of all wars and those who gave their lives for all of us. Chapter members pass out programs to over 1500 attendees and then serve refreshments to the guests after the ceremony.

On October 11, 2019, for the DAR National Day of Service, our chapter made "goody bags" for the firefighters stationed at the Sun City fire station to thank them for everything they do for the residents of Sun City, Texas.
