La Villita Projects
We are proud of our accomplishments each year. We are visible in the community, in the Dogwood Regents' Council of DAR, in Texas State Society DAR functions, and NSDAR projects. La Villita Chapter NSDAR members contribute to chapter activities as their individual interests dictate.

§
In partnership with William Scott Chapter and Come & Take It Chapters, La Villita Chapter NSDAR helped raise funds for the Brazos Valley Veterans Memorial to erect "Rosie the Riveter" at Veteran's Park in College Station in 2017. The statue represents the work of women on the homefront during World War II.
§
We sponsor the Brazos de Dios Society C.A.R. (Children of the American Revolution), whose members have served at chapter, state, and national levels.
§
Two La Villita Caroline Mitchell DAR Scholarships are given annually to graduating seniors from the College Station Independent School District or the Bryan/College Station Homeschool Association.
§
We recognize distinguished local citizens for their contributions to the community by presenting DAR medals.
§
We recognize outstanding area students: Two ROTC medals are presented at Texas A&M University each year. DAR Good Citizens awards are given to high school seniors. Youth Citizenship medals are presented to middle school students.
§
Members of our chapter place U.S. flags on graves of veterans in the College Station Cemetery on Veterans Day and Memorial Day.
§
Members participate in annual community events such as Boonville Days and the Heritage Park 4th of July celebration.
§
Our chapter offers genealogy workshops.
§
Programs at our meetings promote awareness of literacy, patriotism, history, historical research and preservation, and genealogical research.
§
Our Membership Committee hosts new member orientations multiple times a year.
§
The chapter's Constitution Week Committee works with many groups in the community to focus attention on this national celebration of our constitution. Each year the chapter sponsors a Constitution Week luncheon jointly with the William Scott Chapter and Come & Take It Chapter.
