National Society Daughters of the American Revolution
The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) was founded in 1890. We are a volunteer organization of women whose ancestry dates back to the Patriots of the American Revolutionary War. Today, we serve our communities by promoting patriotism, supporting historic preservation of American history, and ensuring educational opportunities for our nation's children.
The DAR headquarters in Washington, D.C., is near the National Mall in the largest woman-owned building in the United States.
