The Guadalupe Victoria Chapter NSDAR is located in Victoria, Texas, and was organized 23 February 1934, and granted its charter two years later. Victoria is known as “The Crossroads” because of its location centered between four major cities: Houston, Corpus Christi, San Antonio, and Austin. This area, also known as the Golden Crescent Region, generally refers to the seven county area: Gonzales, Lavaca, Dewitt, Goliad, Jackson, Victoria and Calhoun. Our membership and activities include all seven counties. Our chapter meetings are held once a month, at differing times and locations to accommodate the schedules of our members, speakers, or special guests. Any woman is eligible for membership who is no less than eighteen years of age and can prove lineal, bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence.
