Membership Information

Any woman is eligible for DAR membership who is no less than eighteen years of age and can prove lineal bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence.

To be invited to join our chapter, you should:

• Provide the chapter registrar with your full name (including maiden name), date of birth, address, telephone number, email address and name of your Revolutionary War ancestor with state of service (if known). She will place you on the chapter prospective member list and answer questions about the application process, costs and chapter expectations for member participation.
• 
  Attend chapter sponsored events and meetings; get to know members and the culture of the chapter to determine that our chapter is a good fit for you.
• 
  Begin gathering proof documents and work with our chapter registrar to complete your lineage papers.
• 
  If you require assistance identifying a Revolutionary War ancestor, once you have provided proof documents (birth, marriage & death records) to the chapter registrar for yourself, your parents, and your grandparents, she will attempt to identify a Revolutionary War ancestor for you.

  Be patient! Be persistent! Have fun! It will be worth the effort!
