  Martha Washington

Welcome to the Lady Washington Chapter, NSDAR, the oldest chapter in Houston and one of the original five chapters to form the Texas State Society, Daughters of the American Revolution.  You are invited to our monthly programs, field trips and luncheons held from October to May.  Please check our “Chapter Calendar” for further information.

Lady Washington has a long and proud tradition of service to God, Home and Country, while moving forward into the exciting challenges of the 21st Century.  We consider our chapter a vital partner in the “New DAR”, as depicted in the recently released “New DAR” documentary, showcasing the life of today’s Daughter.

We are especially proud of the special events planned for our Juniors, Fifty Year Members and the Children of the American Revolution, San Jacinto Chapter.  Our membership annually supports the many opportunities to serve our city, state and nation.  Locally, we sponsor and actively participate in the following:

Clayton Library Center for Genealogical Research
Constitution Week Luncheon
DAR Good Citizen
Educational programs for Schools
Fisher House
Flag Day Luncheon
Fourth of July activities
Homes for Our Troops: Staff Sergeant Shawn Monroe, Santa Fe, TX
Lineage Research programs
Museum of Natural History
Naturalization Program for Children
Pink Ribbon Houses
ROTC Scholarships
Scholarships for the DAR Schools
Veterans Hospital: Michael E. Debakey VA Medical Center
Veteran’s Day Parade, Houston, TX

Please join the members of the Lady Washington Chapter in celebrating volunteerism and patriotism in the new DAR.  We look forward to your attendance and participation in our many chapter activities.
