Yorktown Bicentennial Chapter
NSDAR

Yorktown, Texas

Organized in 1981

Our chapter was organized in 1981 which was the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Yorktown from which we get our chapter name. Our meetings are held the 3rd Thursday of each month at 2 pm. Our September and May meetings are usually luncheon meetings and we do not meet during the summer months. Contact us for meeting information. We welcome visitors and prospective members at all our meetings.

Our chapter recognizes DAR Good Citizens at the Yorktown High School and at the Nordheim High School at their award assemblies at each school. We also honor these students at our Silver Tea in February. We also honor an Outstanding Citizen from either Cuero or Yorktown each year. We promote Constitution Week in our community and have other programs of historical significance.

Located in South Texas, DeWitt County is considered "The Wildflower Capital" of the Lone Star State.
