The Texas Bluebonnet Chapter, named for the Texas State Flower, was organized on December 6, 1968, in the Grand Prairie Memorial Library; Mrs. A. Frank Bodkin, Organizing Regent, presided. Mrs. Buck Wynne Wooley, Texas State Regent, served as Installing Officer. Mrs. Wooley and Miss Marion Day Mullins, Texas State Parliamentarian, helped to organize our Chapter. The 13 organizing members were: Mmes. Myron Bethard, A. Frank Bodkin, Cloyd B. Caswell, A. James Cotten, F. Martel Gilpin, Stanley H. Graves, Earl Heavrin, Mary Wheeler Jones Sanderson, Fred S. Lambright, Chalmer N. Patterson, Sherwood V. Roark, Lloyd W. Smith, and Miss Fannie May Sadler. During the first year, Mmes. Sam Davis, Thomas D. Easley, Neville E. Hall, James O. Woodman and Mike Young were accepted by the National Society, making our charter membership 18. The Chapter continues to grow, and as of 2006 our membership stands at 60. Past Regents
