The Nathaniel Davis Chapter was formed on May 21,
1957. Nathaniel Davis, the Revolutionary soldier for whom the chapter was named,
served as a Sergeant of the 5th Virginia Regiment with unfailing courage in the
war from February 14, 1776 to March 5, 1778. Sergeant Davis is the
Revolutionary ancestor of Miss Frances EuJean Smith, the Organizing and first
Regent of this chapter.
The first chapter officers too the oath of office in the home of Mrs. Henry W. Fullingim. Mrs Felix Irvin, State Regent, Texas Society Daughters of the American Revolution, conducted the meeting. The charter was recorded by National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and granted by Mrs. Frank G. Tray, Organizing Secretary General. |
