Quilt Project

La Villita Chapter members created two quilt blocks for the TSDAR project "Stitching for Scholarships". This was in conjunction with the TSDAR project to bring the DAR museum's quilt collection to the International Quilt Show in Houston.     Note:  This wildflower quilt block was made by one of our chapter members.

Constitution Week

The Constitution Week committee works with many areas in the community to bring attention to this national celebration of our Constitution. Proclamations are obtained from the Mayor of College Station and the President of TAMU. Members of the chapter work with TAMU and Blinn College to educate students  and the public through the use of displays, lectures, handouts and posters. Area schools have art and essay contests to bring attention to the importance of the Constitution to our youth. Junior Members give interviews on KAMU TV about the history of the Constitution which air during September.
