Meeting Info

Chapter meetings are held on the first Saturday of the month, August through May, unless otherwise determined.

Visitors and prospective members are welcome at all meetings, except for one annual business meeting in January.

American History Essay Contest
The American History Committee was created promote American history by honoring significant historical people, places, dates, and events. Each year the committee sponsors an essay contest for 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.

Winners from all the schools are recognized at a special chapter meeting.  An overall winner is chosen from each grade level, and these winners move to state-level competition.  

   
Children of the American Revolution
The Children of the American Revolution provides patriotic education and leadership training opportunities to our descendants.

James Tull Chapter sponsors the Daniel Hill Society. For more information about Daniel Hill Society, click here.

Society members and senior leaders are shown on a field trip to the Texas State Forestry Festival in Lufkin, Texas.

   
DAR Good Citizens
The DAR Good Citizens program and Scholarship Contest is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship. The program is open to all senior class students enrolled in accredited public or private secondary schools who are in good standing with their state boards of education.

Each year the chapter recognizes DAR Good Citizens chosen from three area high schools. The winners from all the schools are honored at a special chapter meeting where they are presented with a monetary award.
