The Greater Dallas Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was organized on December 7, 1977.  The Organizing Regent was Mrs. Horace J. Kittrell (Margaret).  With forty charter members, chapter officers were installed by State Regent Mrs. George Edman, in the home of Mrs. Kittrell.  The chapter name was selected by Mrs. Kittrell to acknowledge the history, size, and breadth of the Dallas community.  She chose the organizing date, December 7, the anniversary of Pearl Harbor, to honor the memory of service men and women who gave their lives in defense of our country.  Mrs. Kittrell served as TSDAR State Corresponding Secretary from 1973-1976 while a member of the Jane Douglas Chapter and was honored as a fifty-year member of NSDAR before her death in 1991.  The Chapter held a memorial service in 1996 at her grave site, with the placement of a DAR marker in honor of all deceased members.  Her legacy continues through the work of her twin daughters.

Our chapter has worked hard and won many National and State awards over the years.  Our originally designed banner is a standout at all functions.   Our monthly newsletter helps keep each member informed about chapter news and events.  Several members have served on State committees and have attended our National convention in Washington D.C.

Chapter meetings are held on Tuesday or Saturday each month.  Non-members wishing to be invited to a chapter meeting may contact the Chapter Regent by email.   Be sure and include your name and an e-mail address.  If no e-mail address is available, a phone number to contact is fine, and we will be in touch with you.
