Beal Family members, the Goose Creek Chapter,
Daughters of the American Revolution, and friends
gathered to place a DAR insignia marker on the
headstone of Reba Templeton Beal. Her
daughter, Kathy Freeman, organized the event to
honor her mother, who had dearly loved her
living family as well as those who had gone in
generations before, such as her Revolutionary
War ancestor, David Templeton. Mrs. Beal
emulated Templeton's service to his country with
her lifetime of service to others.
Chapter
Regent Elizabeth Gill presided over the meeting, while
Chapter Chaplain Laura Fae Templin conducted the memorial
service. Reba's niece, Gladys, spoke of Reba's accomplishments and love for people.
Also in
attendance was Berta
Mask, representing the Baytown Chapter of the
United Daughters of the Confederacy, to which
Beal belonged; Don Beal, Reba's husband; Donna
Cary, Reba's daughter; Pauline Fagala, Reba's sister; and Life
Robinson, Reba's grandson. |
