 Chapter Activities

Lt. Colonel Barbara Vogl, a new member, presented
a program on her ancestor, Dr. Mary Walker.

Chapter Regent Karen Pilgrim presented a certificate of award to
Angela Wylie for her winning poem entry to the Texas Society DAR.

Chapter Regent Karen Pilgrim presented a certificate of award to Kelly
Lindsey, chapter registrar, for her winning narrative entry to the Texas Society DAR.

Chapter member Sylvia Vandiver decorated the Mineola Library
entry cabinet in celebration of American Indian Month.

Honorary Regent Lucille Gilbreath placed flags on
Veterans graves at Hopewell Cemetery.

Honorary Regent Mary Sockwell placed flags on Veterans graves at
Hopewell Cemetery.

A group of members helped honor the Quitman volunteer
firefighter by presenting the DAR 9/11 Memorial Flag.

Dean Spurlin agreed to be our first veteran to give an oral
history for the Library of Congress.

Chapter Christmas party was a great success.

Many members attended the chapter Christmas party
with their husbands.



Members and officers donated blankets and toys to Winnsboro Advocacy Center.

 

Our annual scholarship winner and her mother attended our May meeting.



Celebrating Christmas with brunch and a tour at historic Oaklea Mansion in Winnsboro.

 

 Members volunteered at the Traveling Vietnam Wall Memorial and also the "This Place Matters" program.
