Mr. Alex Azar, Commandant of the Comanche Peak Detachment, Marine Corps Leauge, is

the Detachment, and for his service on the founding board of the U.S. Veterans Museum.

TSDAR STATE CONFERENCE - March 11 - 13, 2010
Pictured (L-R) at the TSDAR Medal of Honor banquet are: Jim Hanlon; LTC James Megellas, USAF
Retired; Regent Kathy Hanlon; and Division II Chairman Marcy Carter-Lovick. LTC Megellas is
the most decorated officer in the history of the 82nd Airborne Division having been awarded
more than 25 medals for his WWII Service including: the Distinguished Service Cross; two Silver
Stars; two Bronze Stars; and two Purple Hearts. LTC Megellas is the 2010 TSDAR Medal of Honor
recipient, and will be awarded the NSDAR Medal of Honor at Continental Congress in July, 2010. He
is also a Congressional Medal of Honor nominee for acts of valor during the Battle of the Bulge.

Workshop participants learned how to use the DAR Genealogical Research System [GRS], a combination
of databases created to organize the large quantity of information collected by DAR since its inception.

GENEALOGY 101 WORKSHOP - April 30, 2010
Regent Kathy Hanlon presented a "Genealogy 101" Workshop for an RV group during
a rally held in Weatherford, Texas. Record keeping methods, Internet and local
resources, and much, much more was discussed during the well-attended workshop.

co-sponsored by the Elizabeth Crockett Chapter and the Hood County Historical Commission.

NSDAR AMERICAN HERITAGE ARTS & SCULPTURE CONTEST - May 27, 2010
Chapter member Mary Oexmann is awarded second place in the 2010 NSDAR
American Heritage Art & Sculpture contest. The entry, a watercolor painting
of the historic Acton United Methodist Church, was judged on artistic ability,
reflection of the contest theme and conformity to contest rules.





119TH NSDAR CONTINENTAL CONGRESS - July 8 - 11, 2010
