LTC Megellas is the most decorated officer in the history of the 82nd Airborne Division having been awarded more than 25 medals for his WWII Service including: the Distinguished Service Cross; two Silver Stars; two Bronze Stars; and two Purple Hearts. LTC Megellas is the 2010 TSDAR Medal of Honor recipient, and will be awarded the NSDAR Medal of Honor at Continental Congress in July, 2010.
