Community Service Awards
The Community Service Awards Committee was established by the National Board of Management in April 1995 as a way members of the community may be considered for DAR recognition at the chapter and state levels.

This award recognizes worthy residents, from a variety of walks of life, for voluntary achievements in cultural, educational, humanitarian, patriotic, historical, and citizenship endeavors, or in environmental conservation.

Corpus Christi Chapter's 2011 winner was Maureen Miller.

 Genealogical Records
As a result of the work of DAR members, the DAR Library has assembled a tremendous amount of material not available anywhere else in the world. To better search this remarkable collection, DAR volunteers are currently working on creating a master index of the collection.

Members of our chapter contributed family record pages from their Bibles to be bound and placed in the DAR Library Genealogical Records Collection.

President General's Project
Since 1983, each President General has chosen a particular project which is then approved by the Continental Congress. President General Merry Ann Wright's project is the restoration of and improvements to our national headquarters at 1776 D Street NW in Washington, DC. The headquarters is listed as a National Historic Landmark.

 TSDAR Revolutionary Grave Marker
There are over 40 Revolutionary War patriots who are buried in Texas.  Corpus Christi Chapter has enthusiastically supported the state project to place an obelisk on Cenotaph Hill, at the State Cemetery in Austin, honoring Revolutionary War patriots buried in Texas.  The monument was unveiled March 2009. One of our members, Ellen Royce has an ancestor James Potter Collins, who is listed on the monument.

Assisting Prospective Members Identify Their Patriot Ancestors
Any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution, is eligible for membership.  Many times prospective members need help with their research.  Corpus Christi Chapter's registrar, Lineage Research chairman, Membership chairman, and other members have consistently helped many women become members of DAR.
