Colonel George Mason Chapter

The Colonel George Mason Chapter, NSDAR, Garland, Texas, was formally organized on April 16, 1955, under the direction of the Texas State Regent Mrs. Loretta Grim Thomas. Fourteen charter members were appointed by the NSDAR. Among those members were Mrs. Nellen Sellers Arthurs and Mrs. Frances Sellers Odell, direct lineal descendants of Colonel Mason. The Yearbook for 1955-57 listed sixteen members including the Organizing Regent, Mrs. Charles R. McKenney.

Today we are proud of our accomplishments each year. We are visible in the community and in Texas State DAR functions. At our annual February meeting, we honor outstanding students in the area. We meet once a month September through May at 6 p.m.
