Sample of Revolutionary Reading

The DAR is a national society founded by women for historical, educational and patriotic purposes. About a hundred years after our country was established, there was an upsurge in patriotism and a desire to honor those men and women whose sacrifices made our country free and independent, and to perpetuate the freedoms for which our ancestors fought. Preliminary work was done during the summer of 1890, and on October 11 of that year the NSDAR was a reality.
