Dorothy Ann Brown’s grandparents were Norwegian immigrants who settled in Bosque County. She tells about her great-grandfather, Christian Bronstad, who wanted to be a good American, so he purchased a dictionary to learn the language. Another grandfather, Lemmick Huse, came to America and became a self-taught doctor. Dorothy Ann Brown is a teacher and some of her years were as professor of English at Clifton College. To this day, she is beloved by her students. Dorothy Ann wrote the book, "Of Thee We Sing," a history of Clifton College. She is an honorary member of the Bosque County Historical Commission. |
